Air Namibia, the national airline of Namibia, came into existence in 1946 as South West Air Transport. Headquartered at Windhoek in Namibia, Hosea Kutako International Airport serves as the main hub for the airline while Eros Airport is its secondary hub. Courtesy of its fleet size of 10 aircraft, the air carrier carries its safe, reliable and efficient operations to more than 36 destinations worldwide. In its endeavor to bring the rest of the world closer to Namibia, the air carrier leaves no stone unturned to become the most preferred airline by passengers from every nook and cranny of the world. And that’s the reason that the slogan of the company – “Carrying the Spirit of Namibia” seems to be as apt as it can be.
BAGGAGE POLICY
The air carrier allows each of its passengers to bring carry-on baggage with them in all of the Air Namibia flights. While passengers traveling via Business Class can carry 2 pieces of hand luggage, Economy Class travelers are allowed to bring only one piece of carry-on. Each piece of carry-on, however, must weigh at most 22 lbs and have dimensions within 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Passengers can also bring one small handbag or laptop with them, as personal item, in the aircraft cabin.
Regarding the Checked Baggage, free baggage allowance depends on the passenger’s travel class, flight fare, destination and other such factors. No piece of in-hold luggage, however, must exceed the linear dimensions of 62 inches and weigh more than 70 lbs in order to be accepted.
